Trey Lance Is A God Among Us

Okay its week 1 of the preseason i'm not going to overreact.. but what a start for the 49ers #3 overall pick Trey Lance. The North Dakota State product is currently San Franciscos QB2, he has a bunch to learn, really only played one season in college at a FCS school.. but man oh man did he flash some amazing potential in his first NFL game tonight.

I am still the leader of the Jimmy Goat-rappolo fan club, and believe 2021 can be a repeat of 2019 with a ring added if we let the vet have his comeback SZN. Sometimes you just have to be honest with yourself and recognize the pure potential in front of this team with Trey Lance under center. The Run/Pass option we can see with the young gun slinger in future years has the faithful drooling.

Preseason or not the arm strength, accuracy, and reads looked amazing tonight. His most impressive throw was arguably an incompletion that hit Brandon Aiyuk on the numbers and must've been thrown 200+ MPH. Trey hit throws directly on the money tonight, especially while on the run and rolling out into space.

The throw that captivated and fired up fantasy football players across the planet was the left to right 80 yard TD throw to Trent Sherfield. Trey absolutely unloaded a ball across the field and dropped it right in the bucket, hitting his man in stride leading to an easy TD. The ball had a little wobble but the placement gave me goosebumps. See Below!

There were also a good amount bad throws that gave me some concern.. then i remembered the guy has played like one game of football in the last 400 days. Realistically he's gonna take some time. Trent Williams wasn't up front at LT tonight and Trey took a couple bad sacks which proved to be drive killers. His pocket awareness wasn't there yet, fumbling off a blindside swipe. He got hammered in the backfield one to many times for my liking. Overall the good significantly outweighed the bad, his mid field reads and pocket progression will take time and we only got an insanely small sample size, but i'm fired up regardless.

The box score warriors didn't see the 3-4 drops that ended a few drives early, but just you wait... once the chemistry is down and Trey gets the keys this 49er squad is going to be dangerous. Lance has an absolute Cannon and has the mobility to be a true dual threat problem in this league. For all you fantasy goons out there please stash Trey on your roster.. if you have him in Dynasty this is when you hit a quick shimmy and flex on every person in your league.

The future is bright 49ers fans.. obviously we've only seen one game and you can't freak out but I legitimately would follow Coach Shanahan into a wall of fire. We mortgaged the future for this young buck and it's time for me to plant my flag and declare Trey Lance the future of this franchise. Once he gets his feet wet and we are able to let Kyle scheme up a deadly dual threat offense the sky is the limit.

All that being said Jimmy is my guy for 2021, he's one of the best game managers in the league and has led this squad to a 22-8 record while on the field. Lets go grab a ring and show the bay area social media department that the slander is disgusting, unwarranted, and that it still... "Feels Great Baby"
