Tuesday 8/11 Picks (MLB/NBA)

Today I'm starting a little slow after looking at the lines today as there weren't too many games that excited me. Hockey is going to be something I hope to lock in on later this week, but for now I stuck to what’s been working.

Parlay: Bluejays (-155) & White Sox (-115)

I really like the pitching matchup here. Ryu has not been great this year for the Jays sitting at a 5.14 ERA after 14 innings pitched, but he’s their ace and the 1-5 hitters for the Marlins have either never seen or never gotten a hit off of him. The marlins finally cooled down and being on a 2 game skid pushed the envelope for me to take this one. Gio has been awful this year, ERA in the 7’s, but the White Sox are 3-0 for me this year so I'm going to ride them and hope they can get off against a guy making his first start for the Tigers, regardless of his numbers.

NBA Straight Up: Mavs ML (+120)

I hate going against a team fighting for a playoff bid like the Blazers currently are, but the Mavs have a lot to play for as well here as they’re in a 3-way tie for 5th. This could mean them playing Houston or Denver, rather than them going against the Clippers. I expect Luka to get going early and continue this Mavs win streak.
