Week 15: Starts, Sits and Sleepers

Writer's picture: Vincenzo SciacquaVincenzo Sciacqua

Congrats to you if you made it to the next round of the playoffs. This week could punch your ticket to the Fantasy Championship or it could have you start your 2021 research a little early. All year we have been trying to give you the best advice we can and we appreciate all of you who have been here the entire way. Good Luck this week and we hope you’ll be here next week for the Championship Edition.

QB Starts

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (at Cardinals)

Jalen Hurts is fresh off his first career start and win. He looked great in that game even while going up against one of the better defenses in the league. The Rookie QB only threw for 167 yards but he did have a TD and no interceptions but the real damage came in the running game as he rushed for 108 yards on 18 carries. The Arizona Cardinals have been average against the QB but Hurts should still see enough rushing work to keep his floor higher than most QBs.

Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts (vs Texans)

Philip Rivers has had at least 23 fantasy points in the last 4 games with one of those being a Matchup with Houston that saw him throw for 285 yards and 2 touchdowns. He looks to have built chemistry with TY Hilton and he seems to have settled in to the Colts offense and is having a very good season. Houston has given up 1,212 passing yards and 7 TDs over the last four weeks to the QB position. They are really struggling to stop the pass and He could easily exploit that with TY Hilton and Michael Pittman Jr..

QB Sits

Cam Newton, New England Patriots (at Dolphins)

The Dolphins defense is legit and they should be feeling really good about themselves this week against Cam Newton and the Patriots. Newton has failed to throw for over 120 yards in three straight games and is even running the ball less. The Dolphins defense will have the Patriots wide outs on lock so it could be up to Newton's legs but it doesn’t seem likely that they will be good enough to win you a matchup.

RB Starts

Cam Akers, Los Angeles Rams (vs Jets)

Sean McVay said he was going to role with the hot hand after Akers went for 9/84/1 week 12 and he wasn’t lying. Akers has 50 carries over the last two weeks and had 171 yards last week. The Jets are a plus matchup for him this week and we should see McVay keep his word and give Akers another high workload week. The Receiving work has yet to come up but he is capable of ripping off big plays everything he gets the ball. Start Akers with confidence this week.

JK Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens (vs Jaguars)

Dobbins’ performance last Monday Night was overshadowed by the fact that The Ravens had 5 rushing TDs and Lamar had 124 yards on the ground. Dobbins looked explosive and against a Jacksonville team who has not been great on defense this season he could see his rushing attempts go up due to a blow out. The Ravens offense finally looked like its old self and we should see them handle The Jags pretty easily. Dobbins has major upside for big chunk plays and is always a threat when he’s got space.

RB Sit

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City Chiefs (at Saints)

CEH has been a little inconsistent as of late and could see his opportunities diminish in what figures to be a shootout against the Saints. Saints have given up less than 86 yards per game to the running backs over the last 4 games. This has a feeling of a major Patrick Mahomes take over.

WR Starts

Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers (at Dallas)

The 49ers first round pick has been nothing short of amazing as of late with at least 19 Fantasy Points in his last 4 games played. He’s a dynamic player who Shanahan is drawing up plays for every week. During that 4 game span he’s had 10, 9, 14, and 16 targets. The Dallas Cowboys defense has not been able to stop WR’s from scoring on them (22 this season, most in the NFL). Aiyuk is in another great spot to produce and should be started in all formats.

Jarvis Landry, Cleveland Browns (at Giants)

Landry was a Sit in my early drafts of this piece but with Giants shutdown corner James Bradberry forced to miss this game due to COVID protocol, he was shifted to a Start. He has been playing great lately with 6 catches in the last 3 games while drawing double digit targets in all but one (9 targets in the other). Baker Mayfield is playing the best football in his career and a big part of that is the dependability of Jarvis Landry. I would Start Landry at the FLEX in my Lineups.

WR Sits

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals (vs Steelers)

The Bengals will be making a change at Quarterback this week and they will be starting Ryan Finley. Boyd would have been a sit for me before but this really makes it an easier decision. Going up against the Steelers Defense with Ryan Finley as your starter should be Bad news for Tyler Boyd.

TE Start

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens (vs Jaguars)

I understand you wouldn’t sit Andrews but there is concern about the passing offense. Andrews is one of the league's best Tight Ends and he’s shown what he can do with limited volume. Andrews should still produce especially in a matchup with a terrible Jaguars defense.

Sleepers

QB- Jared Goff, Gardner Minshew, Andy Dalton

RB- Lynn Bowden Jr, Jeff Wilson, JD McKissic

WR- Willie Snead, Tim Patrick, Emmanuel Sanders

TE- Jared Cook, Cole Kmet, Irv Smith jr.

Streamers

TE- Dalton Schultz, Dawson Knox, Jordan Akins

D/ST- Rams, Vikings, Packers

K- Mike Nugent, Greg Zuerlien, Matt Gay
