Week 2 of the NFL season did not disappoint. We took a look at a potential AFC championship preview with the Ravens vs Chiefs, saw some high scoring shootouts, and watched some good teams like the Packers, Bills, and Browns bounce back after a rough Week 1!
Let’s take a look at Week 2’s The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
THE GOOD
Panthers
Are the Panthers legit? After a shaky win against the Jets in Week 1, the Panthers looked like one of the most complete teams in the NFL against the Saints. With CMC, the promising play of Darnold, the emergence of DJ Moore, and the solid defense; I am looking forward to the Week 4 game against the Cowboys to see how real this team is.
Bills
It’s seems like the Bills were listening to The Upside Play last week because they really woke up against the Dolphins. Buffalo scored 5 touchdowns, four to someone not named Stefon Diggs. More surprising than that, three were rushing touchdowns to someone not named Josh Allen. The Bills really looked like the team we expected them to be. Let’s see if this shows true in the coming weeks ahead.
Raiders
One of the more surprising 2-0 teams is the Las Vegas Raiders. So long as Derek Carr can stay healthy and play consistently, the Raiders can have one of the better offenses in the NFL. Currently first in the AFC West, the Raiders can snag a wild card spot if they continue to play with this chemistry.
THE BAD
Jameis Winston
One thing we know for sure about Winston is how consistent his inconsistence is. After a promising Week 1, Winston disappointed in familiar fashion throwing 50% with no scores and a couple of picks. It’s too early to say he’ll be hit or miss all year, but this doesn’t feel like much has changed.
Eagles
The Eagles clearly have some young talent that will be a big part of Philly’s future. Key word is future. As fun as they may be to watch, their youth definitely showed against the 49ers. Poor run schemes and predictable play calling lost them the home opener and showed the country that this team still has some stuff to figure out.
Chargers
The Chargers did enough to win in an expected defensive showdown a couple of weeks ago against Washington. What wasn’t expected was their subpar offensive play this week against Dallas. The Chargers clearly have an elite pass defense, but that won’t mean much if they can’t get their offense going.
THE UGLY
Zach Wilson and the Jets
Zach Wilson threw 4 interceptions in 6 drives and the Jets are playing like the Jets. That is all.
Dolphins
Losing 35-0 is pretty much the worse way to go down in the NFL. The Bills may have exposed the Dolphins run defense. If the Bills can efficiently hand the ball off 20+ then anyone can. Even if the defense played lights up, you can’t win without putting points on the board. With Tua out for what could be a long period of time, the Dolphins aren’t looking like a team you should be afraid of.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars
After losing his first game ever last week, it was exciting to see how the #1 draft pick would bounce back. It wasn’t good. Lawrence has thrown 5 interceptions in his first two games. The Jaguars had less than 200 total yards of offense. That’s ugly!
