Week 2 is in the books and we are starting to get a better idea of what the rest of the year is looking like. The Ravens are still the Ravens, the Bengals are still the Bengals and despite losing Tom Brady, the Patriots are still more or less the Patriots. Now what’s new? The 49ers came out of a week 2 win over the Jets with a handful of big injuries which could put their season in jeopardy, the Raiders put on a show on Monday night showing that Jon Gruden knows what he’s doing and the Cowboys showed flashes of that explosive offense which could make them a contender in the NFC.
What did we learn this week?
Joe Burrow is the real deal. Despite the loss, Burrow proved he can thrive in an offense that demands a lot from him. Burrow threw the ball 61 times with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Mitchell Trubisky is doing just enough to keep his job, but not enough to get off the hot seat. After leading his team to a 2-0 record to start the season, Trubisky has yet to show that he is the superstar the Bears hoped for.
Minnesota is in trouble. Kirk Cousins and the Vikings offense seem to be having some issues spreading the field without Swiss Army knife Stefon Diggs. Minnesota is two games back from both Green Bay and Chicago in the NFC North.
Despite big names like Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. the Browns are a run first time. Nick Chubb has showed out thus far and lead the Browns to a victory with 124 rush yards while finding the end zone twice.
With that said, let’s focus in on last weeks fantasy report with The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
The Good:
Dak Prescott continues to impress throwing for 450 yards to comeback and beat the Falcons late in the 4th.
Darren Waller shows he is Derek Carr’s go-to guy with 12 receptions, a touchdown and over 100 yards.
Calvin Ridley continues to steal Julio Jones spotlight with over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Russell Wilson is showing he is a early front runner for MVP with 5 touchdowns and the win in a close Sunday Night Football showdown.
The Bad:
Clyde Edwards Helaire finished the game with 10 carries and 38 rush yards after his eye opening week one performance.
Allen Robinson hauled the ball 3 times for a total of 33 yards after being promised more action due to his contact dispute.
Robert Woods, despite having a touchdown, had 2 receptions for 14 yards.
The Ugly:
The Detroit Lions Defense allowed 42 points and 488 yards in an ugly loss to Green Bay.
Todd Gurley rushed the ball 21 times for 61 yards averaging a measly 2.9 yards per carry with zero receptions.
Julio Jones caught only 2 passes for 24 yards in a game where the Falcons scored 39 points.
