Week 2 of the NFL season got off to an UGLY start. The first slate of games were filled with unders and yellow flags flying left and right. The refs tried their best to ruin our Sunday but the late afternoon games weren’t having it. Sunday night’s shootout was the perfect way to end an unusual day.
The Ravens came out and made a statement Sunday night. With 15 players on the injury reserve list, it seemed as if nothing could go their way these last few months. Marquise Brown and Ty’Son Williams stepped up big for the injured Ravens offense. Brown had 6 receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown while Williams added 77 yards on the ground with 5.9 yards per carry. Lamar exuded confidence down the stretch of this game. Not only did he rush for 107 and 2 touchdowns, but he stepped up as any MVP should and iced the game on a critical 4th and 1 play late in the final quarter.
The NFC West still looks like it's the most talented in the NFL right now. The Cardinals squeezed out a late win after Vikings kicker Greg Joseph missed a 37 yard game winning field goal attempt. While the 49ers held off an Eagles team that looks much improved from last year. Matthew Stafford looked poised and comfortable leading the Rams to a 4th quarter victory over the underachieving Colts. Cooper Kupp and Deebo Samuel have been on fire to start the season for both these teams. We can’t forget about the Seahawks who are still right in the mix after losing an overtime thriller against Tennessee. The NFC West race is going to be one to keep an eye on all season.
