Week 4 is going to be a fun one. We have Brady back in Foxborough, a battle of NFC west powerhouses, and a Raiders and Chargers duel that will tell us how good these teams can be. QB Starts
Sam Darnold @ Cowboys
Sam Darnold is playing great football right now and not being held back by Adam Gase is doing wonders for him. Dallas is top 10 in points given up to the QB position so far in 2021. Darnold has the ability to really show that he should be viewed as a franchise level player with a great showing on Sunday. Even without CMC in the lineup Darnold has great weapons who can create seperation and make his day a little easier. I'm expecting a top 15 finish for him in week 4.
Derek Carr @ Chargers
Derek Carr has started off 2021 on fire. Over 380 passing yards and 2 TDs in all three games so far. The Chargers defense did get Mahomes to throw two picks last Sunday but he also threw 3 touchdown passes as well. Carr is doing everything right so far this season and is putting the Raiders in the position to put points on the board. Derek should be viewed as a top 12-15 QB this week.
QB Sit
Mac Jones vs Buccaneers
This one should be pretty easy but we’ve still been asked a lot about Mac Jones this week. He’s an easy sit. This Bucs team doesn't need a reason to play better but with Tom Brady’s return to Foxborough looming over the Bucs head you already know they will be fired up to play well for their Super Bowl winning QB.
RB Start
David Montgomery vs Lions
The Lions held strong against the Ravens last week but got absolutely ripped by RB’s in week 1 and 2. After a shaky debut from Justin Fields I expect the Bears to utilize David Montgomery early and often. He’s had 4 Targets in the last two games and when given a 15+ carry workload has shined. Ride with the Bears run game against a weak Lions defense.
Chuba Hubbard @ Cowboys
The Panthers lost their top RB in CMC last week and Hubbard came in and played 55% of the RB snaps. The Carolina Panthers surprisingly have not trailed at all in a game so far. Hubbard should see a full workload and will see the passing work as well. This game figures to be a high scoring affair but Trevon Diggs has really come into his own this season and could be shadowing DJ Moore which opens up the passing game more for Hubbard.
RB Sit
Ty’Son Williams @ Broncos
The Broncos have been stingy against the run so far this season and it did look like the Ravens were using a full RBBC last week. With the matchup not being favorable and the volume still in flux Williams will be moved to my Bench this week until we see more of a consistent work load.
WR Starts
Cole Beasley vs Texans
Two 13 target games always fires me up for a WR. Cole Beasley is one of the better route runners and finds himself in one of the most pass happy offenses in the league. Opportunity usually equals success in the NFL and the Snap counts and targets are there. A sure-handed WR with a large target share is an easy start especially against the Texans who can't seem to cover anyone.
Odell Beckham Jr. @ Vikings
Beckham made his 2021 debut last week and even on a snap count he came back strong. He led the Browns in Targets and receiving yards while being second in catches. He’s getting back into game speed and gets a Vikings team who has given up 35.5 points per game to the WR position (4th most in NFL). With Baker playing much better this season and a plus Matchup we have a good shot at seeing OBJ back at the top of the fantasy mountain.
WR Sit
Kenny Golladay @ Saints
Kenny G has been a huge disappointment so far this season and I don’t expect that to change in week 4. The Saints’ have a great defense and Golladay will be shadowed by Marshon Lattimore. Even with Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton out for this game I would still find another option instead of Golladay.
TE Start
Dalton Schultz vs Panthers
Schultz has already jumped Jarwin on the depth chart and has become a trusted target for Dak Prescott. In 2 of the 3 games so far he's had 6 targets and has scored more than 10 PPR points in each of those games. He's also played in over 69% of snaps in every game so far. While Streaming the TE position I usually look for players who can get me to that 10 PPR point threshold before a TD and I believe Schultz fits that category perfectly this week.
TE Sits
Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith vs Buccaneers
Another easy sit but neither has really been a consistent option so far and with the tough matchup and a murky situation I’ll be sitting them this week.
