Week 7 TNF Preview: Giants vs Eagles

Writer's picture: Vincenzo SciacquaVincenzo Sciacqua

New York Giants (1-5) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-4-1)

Current Lines: PHI -4.5 / O/U 44.5

Week 6 kicks off with a divisional battle against the Eagles and Giants. Plenty of history between these two teams so even though they have a combined 2 wins anything is possible. Carson Wentz is showing that he is a very good QB and is doing it with an arsenal of replacement players. The Giants have a ton of problems and it doesn’t seem like that will change anytime soon. Daniel Jones has shown flashes of brilliance but can’t seem to hold on to the ball with a total of 9 turnovers in 6 games. This matchup looks like a snooze fest at first but I think this game could be a back and forth affair.

Game Lines and Upside Play Team Picks

Game Storylines

Giants

  • QB Daniel Jones only has 3 passing touchdowns this season and all 3 have gone to WR Darius Slayton

  • Daniel Jones leads the NY Giants team in Rushing yards with 204 yards.

  • NY is only averaging 87.8 rushing yards per game. They need to establish the run early to be able to approve on their season average of 187 passing yards per game.

  • The Giants offense is only averaging 16.8 points per game. The Eagles defense is beatable but they need Daniel Jones to be on point.

Eagles

  • Eagles offense will be without most of it’s offensive line, Miles Sanders, Zach Ertz and more.

  • Carson Wentz is having a solid season with all the injuries to his supporting cast.

  • Travis Fulgham has come out of nowhere to become a very viable option for Carson Wentz.

  • RB Boston Scott will get the start in place of Miles Sanders and this is a great matchup for him to produce for your fantasy team.

Fantasy Relevant Players

Eagles

  • QB Carson Wentz- Only 1 game with less than 34 passing attempts. Isn’t throwing for a ton of yards but has a Passing TD’s in all but one game and a total of 4 rushing TD’s

  • RB Boston Scott- Played very good last season without Sanders and could be in for an increased workload. Will be involved in the passing game.

  • WR Travis Fulgham- Target hog the last two weeks with 23 total targets and 16 catches for 227 yards.

Giants

  • WR Darius Slayton- 3 receiving touchdowns and 406 yards. Even with Daniel Jones being ineffective Slayton could still be valuable

  • RB Devonta Freeman- He’s getting 15 plus touches for 80 yards. He's a low floor flex option with little upside

Deep Sleepers

Eagles TE Richard Rodgers- With Ertz missing time it could be a good spot start at the TE position.

Giants RB Wayne Gallman- Freeman isn't showing much upside so the Giants could turn to Gallman more than usual.
