Week 11: Starts, Sits and Sleepers

Writer's picture: Vincenzo SciacquaVincenzo Sciacqua

Week 11 has a good amount of story lines behind it. We have the start of the Taysom Hill experiment in New Orleans, a Jared Goff and Tom Brady Super Bowl rematch, and an AFC West showdown on Sunday Night Football with the Chiefs and the Surprising 6-3 Las Vegas Raiders. This season has been a weird one with so much uncertainty with the COVID-19 IR list and all the injuries that have happened. We know those lineups questions are getting more important as we creep up towards the Fantasy Playoffs and we are trying our best to give you the best advice with the most updated news and notes you need to succeed. Be sure to check us out on twitter @theUpsidePlay for Sunday Morning Q&A and game-day highlights

QB Starts

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (vs Jets)

The Jets have been terrible against Fantasy Quarterbacks this season allowing 21.7 to the position a week. In the Rookies first 8 starts he's averaging over 30 FPTS a game (6 points per TD). Herbert has exceeded all the expectations Fantasy Managers put on him when they picked him up and against a low tiered Jets Defense that should continue in week 11.

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers (at Jaguars)

Big Ben gets a juicy matchup against the Jaguars who have not been able to stop QB’s from picking apart their defense. Jacksonville is giving up 283 passing yards a game and a whopping 30.1 points given up per game. The Future Hall Of Famer is playing great right now and could see his 2 game streak of over 30 Fantasy points continue. If all three of Ben’s weapons stay healthy he enters the must start category.

QB Sits

Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams (at Buccaneers)

Jared Goff was a “QB Start” last week against a Seattle team who is bleeding points to QB’s. He was not able to exploit the matchup in terms of a good Fantasy day with 329 yards and no touchdowns. Goff now finds himself on the other end of the spectrum against the Bucs on Monday Night. Tampa Bay is tough against QB’s, allowing under 17 points per game to QBs.

RB Starts

JD McKissic, Washington Football Team (vs Bengals)

McKissic has been Alex Smith’s top target since he took over and has seen 29 targets over the last two weeks which has led to 16 catches for 108 yards. Washington obviously does not want to give explosive rookie Antonio Gibson any work in the passing game so McKissic holds value as a pass catching RB2 this week. Whenever a new QB targets your RB the most times in the entire league over a 2 week span, you have to give him a look.

Mike Davis, Carolina Panthers, (vs Lions)

Mike Davis has been great while filling in for the Injured Christian McCaffrey. Mike Davis is averaging 4.18 yards per carry and 6.7 yards per reception. Detroit is allowing 141.6 rushing yards per game. Fantasy wise they rank dead last in points allowed to a RB per game at a staggering total of 30.4.

RB Sits

Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos (vs Dolphins)

Melvin Gordon has been struggling the past two games with only 8.3 points on 18 opportunities for 55 total yards. The Denver Broncos are using Philip Lindsey more since he came back from his injury and it has really hurt Gordon’s efficiency. The Dolphins are giving up less than 100 yards rushing per game and they have really stepped up as of late. Gordon might be hard to sit due to the scarcity of the RB landscape but he might be doing you more bad than good in your starting lineup.

WR Starts

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals (vs The Football Team)

Tee has been a monster the past couple of weeks and it feels criminal to ignore at this point. He has At least 70 yards per game in 5 of the last 6 games with over 5 catches in every game in that span. He’s caught a TD in the last 2 of 3 contests and is averaging right under 8 targets per game in his last contest. Joe Mixon got placed on the IR today so we can expect to see the WR’s of Cincy keep their current workload. It looks ugly against Washington's tough secondary, but Tee is the play this weekend.

All Three Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receivers (at Jaguars)

Juju, Claypool and Diontae Johnson are one heck of a three headed monster for Pittsburgh. The Jaguars give up 39.7 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers and with Big Ben spreading the ball and James Conner not running how he was to start the season we could see another big game out of Ben and his weapons. It may be confusing to rank these players but they should all be great pieces in your lineup for your playoff push.

WR Sits

Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos (vs Dolphins)

Jerry Jeudy is commanding a nice target share as of late but with Drew Lock banged up and the tough Matchup against the Miami Dolphins secondary those targets could evaporate fast. Miami is giving up 38 points to opposing wide receivers but their defense has been playing lights out over the last couple games and will have Byron Jones and Xavien Howard following him around all game.

TE Starts

Hayden Hurst, Atlanta Falcons (at Saints)

Hayden Hurst has quietly scored 10+ points in four straight games. Calvin Ridley is still banged up and expected to play but Hurst should still see his 7 targets from Matt Ryan once again. In a division game against the Saints the Falcons will need to rely on the passing game if they want to contend with the unknown that is a Taysom Hill led Saints team.

TE Sits

Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers (at Colts)

This one was quite easy. Tonyan was finding his targets when Adams and Lazard were down with injury. With Adams back he’s seen his work decrease and now with Allen Lazard expected to be back Tonyan will be thrown into the TE dependent low end streaming options.

Sleepers of the Week

QB- Tua Tagovailoa, Andy Dalton

RB- La'Mical Perine, Cam Akers

WR- Cam Sims, Marvin Hall

TE- Logan Thomas, Darren Fells

Streams of the week

QB- Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Taysom Hill, Andy Dalton

TE- Dalton Schultz, Logan Thomas, Darren Fells

D/ST- Chargers, Falcons, Miami

K- Dan Carlson, Kai’ami Fairbain, Jake Elliott
