We would like to start our weekly segment by Congratulating those who made the playoffs. We know this year has been a wild one and the fact that you made it through to being a top team in your league should not go unnoticed. We appreciate all of you who have taken time to read our pieces throughout the season. Let’s get back to setting those matchup winning lineups.
QB Starts:
Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans (at Jaguars)
Ryan Tannehill has been very good for fantasy managers that have rostered him throughout the season. Currently the QB8 in 6 point per TD leagues, Tannehill is fresh off his season high in passing yards (389 yards) and now travels to Jacksonville who has allowed 1155 passing yards and 9 passing TDs over the last 4 weeks. Derrick Henry is still going to get his but Tannehill will be leaned upon to make their offense less predictable and against this week defense he should be a smash start with top 10 upside this week.
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (at Eagles)
Tayson Hill is a cheat code. The “QB” has now had three starts and has put up over 18 points in every single one of those starts. Hill has 2 passing TDs to 1 INT in that span but you’ll take that due to the rushing numbers he gives you. He has at least 49 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns since replacing the injured Drew Brees. Philly has allowed the 2nd most rushing yards to QBs this season but has only given up 2 TDs to running quarterbacks. The rushing floor for Taysom Hill is high and whatever he gives you in the passing game should make you happy you started him.
QB Sit:
Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons (at Chargers)
Julio Jones has already been ruled out for this game and in the last three games he only has one game of over 18 points. The Falcons QB is going against a Chargers team who just got shut out at home and I expect them to play better. Todd Gurley is also dealing with a Knee injury so the running game will not be able to help them set up the pass. I would pivot to someone else in the first week of the Fantasy Playoffs.
RB Starts:
Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts (at Raiders)
The Colts rookie has had two solid games recently, topping 90 rushing yards in both and adding 7 catches for 68 yards. Taylor has led the team in carries in those 2 games and seems to finally see those rushing lanes open up behind a top 10 Offensive line. The Raiders defense has given up 5 touchdowns on 457 rushing yards in the last 4 weeks and we could definitely see the Rookie carve up the banged up defense all day long.
JD McKissic, Washington Football Team (at 49ers)
Antonio Gibson is out this week due to a turf toe issue he sustained in the Football Team’s week 13 win. The pass catching back should see a big uptick in rushing attempts and should still see his normal role in the passing game. Alex Smith has been playing great as of late and McKissic should see enough rushing attempts and targets to warrant him a RB2 start in your fantasy rosters this week.
RB Sits:
Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles (vs Saints)
New Orleans has played great against the run over the last 4 games allowing only 68.5 rushing yards per game over the last month with no rushing TD’s given up. The Eagles team has not been good as of late and with the QB switch to the more athletic Jalen Hurts it's fair to expect Hurts taking some carries away from Miles Sanders who hasn’t been on the field the same amount as he was last season.
WR Starts:
Corey Davis, Tennessee Titans (at Jaguars)
Corey Davis has finally shown us what he wanted to see when he was drafted in the first round 3 years ago. Ryan Tannehill has really helped Corey Davis grow and the numbers reflect that. Over the last 4 weeks Corey Davis has caught 24 passes for 432 yards and 1 touchdown. Jacksonville has been terrible against the pass and with the Tannehill- Davis connection looking strong it would be smart to start Corey Davis in this matchup.
Robby Anderson, Carolina Panthers (vs Broncos)
With DJ Moore on the COVID-19 IR list and Curtis Samuel dealing with a non-COVID illness Robby Anderson should see even more looks than what he’s normally been seeing. The Denver Broncos have been very good against the pass over the last two games but that was against Taysom Hill and the Chiefs who should have had 2 Tds to Tyreek Hill. The Broncos also lost All-Pro CB AJ Bouye to a PED suspension. Teddy Bridgewater has looked better than most people thought he would as a starter and I trust the Panthers to keep the passing game going in a game where Christan McCaffery probably won’t play in.
WR Sits:
DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins (vs Chiefs)
Parker hasn’t quite been the player people had expected after his breakout season last year. His games with Tua have been inconsistent but against Bashaud Breeland he doesn’t expect to have much room to operate. I am looking for other options to start over DeVante Parker.
TE Start:
Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers (at Lions)
If you don't have a Travis Kelce or Darren Waller this season and you’re looking for a TE streamer (still unowned in 30% of Sleeper leagues) Robert Tonyan has been on fire over his last 3 games. Working with Aaron Rodgers has helped as hes had 3 straight games of over 13 points. Tonyan still offers a decent floor since he has at least caught 4 catches for 40 yards in those games.
Sleepers:
QB- Jalen Hurts/ Derek Carr/ Philip Rivers
WR- TY Hilton/ Jalen Reagor/ Nelson Agholor
RB- Chase Edmonds/ Wayne Gallman/ Peyton Barber
TE- Jordan Reed/ Mike Gesicki/ Will Dissly
