Week 2 is here and we had a great week of Football. We hope you won your matchups! If you did not, don't worry you can come ask questions every Sunday morning on our Twitter @TheUpsidePlay.
Week 1 had some injuries that we had to navigate through such as Marlon Mack, Chris Godwin and AJ Brown. As with every Weekly Forecast we will go over a bunch of categories for you to use while setting your lineups or looking through trades. Starting next week I will implement a Trade Target section as well as a Sellers Section where we will list some players you can listen to trade offers on.
Start Of The Week- RB Jonathan Taylor vs MIN
Jonathan Taylor was my Rookie Of The Week for Week 1 and didn’t quite hit as expected but he did get extended work with Marlon Mack (Achilles- out for the year) leaving the game early. There’s no competition for carries in Indianapolis now and faces a Vikings defense that gave up 158 rushing yards to the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. Keep Taylor in your lineups and you will be very happy.
Bust Of The Week- QB Deshaun Watson vs BAL
Watson’s going against Baltimore. That’s a very tough matchup for him and he definitely looked like he missed DeAndre Hopkins against the Chiefs. I don’t believe the Texans will be in this game for very long and some might say that can help his value with all the late game throwing but it’s not a smart idea to rely on garbage time.
Rookie Of The Week- RB Antonio Gibson @ ARI
Arizona couldn’t stop Raheem Mostert last week as he went 15/56 on the ground and 4/95/1 through the air. Antonio Gibson is explosive and can take any play to the house. Washington would be very smart to give Gibson a ton of work in a matchup they can definitely exploit. There’s still a lot of questions about the receiving options in Washington and they can play Gibson everywhere. Gibson is a very attractive DFS play this week.
Breakout Of The Week- WR Diontae Johnson vs DEN
Diontae Johnson had a slow start to the game but really got going and showed serious chemistry with Big Ben. Johnson finished with 6 grabs for 57 yards on a team high 10 targets and the 6 catches were tied with Juju for the team lead. Johnson comes into this game against a Denver defense that lost A.J Bouye for a couple of games. I expect a great game from Johnson and Ben and with banged up James Conner he is for sure on the FLEX position radar.
Bounce Back Of The Week- WR Mike Evans vs CAR
As of the writing of this article Chris Godwin is in the concussion protocol and is Doubtful for this game. Mike Evans becomes the number 1 WR against a Panthers secondary that isn't very good. I expect Tom Brady to come out aggressive and absolute pick apart that helpless Panthers D. Evans was banged up last week but had a full practice on friday which is a great sign.
Deep Sleeper Of The Week- WR Kendrick Bourne @ NYJ
The 49ers will be without George Kittle in week 2 and are already depleted at the WR position. He had 2 catches for 34 yards on 5 targets last week and could be featured a lot more now. He led the 49ers in snaps and routes ran, which usually translates to better performances. Bourne is a good Red Zone threat and could easily see the goal line targets now that Kittle will not be out there.
