Week 3: What We Learned+ The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Writer: rashidmaher94rashidmaher94

Alright everyone! Week 3 is in the books and what a start to the season it has been. Teams like the Seahawks, Chiefs and Ravens are still the teams to beat, but teams like the Steelers and Packers are making themselves known. We also have the Vikings and the Texans significantly trending down from last year. The rest of the NFL seems to be in the middle as they are beating teams they are matched up well against and losing to the teams that they are not. What did we learn this week?

  • The Buccaneers strength is their Defense. Tampa Bay currently holds the number one rush defense in the NFL as well as a pass defense ranked in the top 5.

  • Nick Foles steals the show in Chicago. The Bears no longer look like the worse undefeated team after Foles lights it up throwing 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter for the win.

  • The Eagles are bad. Despite getting faster in the offseason, the Eagles cannot make anytime for Carson Wentz and Wentz has not been able to produce much when he does have time. The defense does look ok, but it is hard to stop the offense when you are on the field all day. Could it be time for Jalen Hurts?

  • Aaron Rodgers looks like he’s back. His 3 touchdown game and win Sunday night in the Superdome looked to be a message to the doubters.

With that said, let’s focus in on last weeks fantasy report with The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The Good:

  • Keenan Allen. Allen had a huge game, especially in PPR, with a big 13 receptions, over 130 yards and a score

  • Alvin Kamara. Kamara did it both on the ground and in the air with 13 receptions, close to 200 total yards and 2 touchdowns

  • Colts Defense. The Colts stole the show allowing only 7 points with 3 interceptions, 2 sacks and 2 defensive touchdowns

  • Russell Wilson. Wilson is showing he is an early front runner for MVP with another 5  touchdowns. Russell Wilson now has 14 touchdowns in 3 games.

The Bad

  • Joe Mixon. Mixon rushed 17 times for 49 yards. Despite Eagles great run D, Mixon has had a hard time finding space.

  • Mike Evans. Despite having two touchdowns, Evans was only targeted 4 times while catching only 2 balls

  • David Montgomery. Montgomery rushed for only 45 yards and has yet to score on the ground this year.

The Ugly

  • Kerryon Johnson. Johnson only saw 3 rushing attempts this week and has yet to eclipse more than 32 yards in a game this year while being nonexistent in the backfield.

  • Carson Wentz. Wentz has thrown 2 interceptions in each game this season and has yet to reach 300 yards passing.

  • Austin Hooper. After a Tier 1 year as a fantasy football tight end, Hooper has yet to catch more than 3 balls or catch for more than 25 yards.
