Week 4 is here and it's getting crazier and crazier by the day. The Titans had a COVID breakout and their game against the Steelers will now be moved to week 8. As I am writing this intro it was just announced that Patriots QB Cam Newton has tested Positive and now he is out for their game against the Chiefs (Check in the the Upside Play on twitter for more information @TheUpsidePlay). With all the confusion about who to start now that you won't have certain players I have decided to expand the Forecast to include 2 players for each topic to give you some more options and analysis to help you make the right call.
Starts of The Week
Kenny Golladay DET WR
He’s finally healthy and back to playing great with 6 grabs 57 yards and a touchdown in week 3. This week he has a matchup with the New Orleans Saints defense who have given up more than 34 points in every game so far this season. The Lions will be competitive in this game and Stafford should be busy. Golladay is a fine play this week and I would start him with the utmost confidence.
Devin Singletary BUF RB
There’s no reason to sit Singletary in this matchup against a Las Vegas Raiders defense who just gave up 250 rushing yards. Yes Josh Allen should be very active running the ball but Singletary should still see enough volume (and gaping holes in the Raiders defense) to warrant a RB2 start.
Busts of The Week
Tom Brady TB QB
Brady is going to be without RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) and WR Chris Godwin (Hamstring) against a very good Los Angeles Chargers defense. Brady has had a tough time finding room to work since joining his new team. It does not help that there are supposed to be thunderstorms and a 90% chance of rain.
Darius Slayton NYG WR
Darius Slayton is the clear number one target in the Giants offense that is really struggling to put points on the board. Slayton will be lined up against Jalen Ramsey for most of the game so I don't think you'll be hearing his name much. Daniel Jones will be under pressure often in this game and it could be over very quickly for the New York Giants.
Breakouts of the Week
David Johnson HOU RB
David Johnson hasn’t been great so far but he hasn’t been terrible. A Matchup with a Vikings defense, who is 26th in the league allowing 147.7 rushing yards per game, will be a welcome sight after facing three top rushing defenses. DJ will be involved in the pass as well and we could very much see 18+ total touches in this game which would put him in the low RB1 high RB2 range.
J.K Dobbins BAL RB
The Baltimore Ravens backfield is a hard one to predict since they use all three of their guys very well. J.K Dobbins is the most talented one on the roster and It will be on full display Sunday when they face a hurting Washington Defense. The game should be over by the opening kickoff and we could see Dobbins run out the clock very early in this game.
Rookies of the Week
James Robinson JAC RB
By now you should know that James Robinson is playing very good right now and has as many TD’s (3) in 3 games as Leonard Fournette did all of last season. He’s being used as the bellcow and until we see otherwise he’s locked and loaded as an RB2. The Matchup against Cincinnati is a chance to see Robinson really breakout (if he hasn’t already). The Volume is there and the pass catching floor is nice so there is nothing to really complain about with Robinson.
Tee Higgins CIN WR
Tee Higgins scored 2 touchdowns last week and looks to be building something special with fellow Rookie QB Joe Burrow. He’s been on the field a ton out snapping all of the other Bengals wide receivers in week 3. Higgins is a big target who is capable of making the big plays when needed. Burrow and AJ Green are struggling to connect and with Higgins out playing Green two weeks in a row it's fair to think Higgins passed him on the depth chart as well. Higgins is a good FLEX piece in a matchup against a Jags team allowing 242 passing yards per game.
Bounce Backs Of The Week
Kenyan Drake ARI RB
Fantasy Managers who roster Kenyan Drake know how little he has done so far. With all the top pass catching options Questionable for Arizona we could see Drake pick up some extra pass catching work. He also plays the Panthers who are giving up 32.2 points per game to opposing RB’s. This is the perfect “Get Right” game.
Darren Waller LV TE
Waller was shut down by the Evil Genius Bill Belichek last week and only had 2 catches for 9 yards. Raiders are missing both of their top receivers and go up against a Bills defense allowing 16.5 points per game to opposing TE’s. It’s no secret that Derek Carr hyper targets Darren Waller and I don't see it stopping in this game.
Deep Sleepers Of The Week
Greg Ward PHI WR
Stop me if you’ve heard this before but the Eagles are dealing with injuries to their pass catchers. Jalen Reagor is out for a while and DeSean Jackson is out as well. Greg Ward played great for them last season and it will have to carry over into a matchup against a tough (but injured) 49ers defense. With there being no other viable options outside of Zach Ertz I would FLEX Greg Ward based on target volume and TD upside.
Nelson Agholor LV WR
Nelson Agholor is best known for dropping footballs when he played for the Eagles. Since leaving the Eagles he’s caught 4 passes on 5 targets for 74 yards and the first receiving TD in Las Vegas Raiders History. Las Vegas will be without top options Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards so there will be targets to go around and Agholor could be in for a solid day if you are in a deeper league and need a fill in for the Steelers or Titans players.
