With bye weeks creeping up and COVID postponements threatening our Fantasy Football Lineups I’ve once again decided to change the way the Forecast looks. I think this will help much more than what we had before. This way will make it easier for you to set your lineups and get the most information. Hope you guys enjoy the new look Forecast and remember you can always hit us up on Twitter @TheUpsidePlay for Start/ Sit advice and Game Day Highlights.
Teams on a bye in week 5: Green Bay, Detroit
Starts Of The Week:
QB- Teddy Bridgewater, CAR
Bridgewater is a fantastic play this week. The Atlanta Falcons defense has given up top 5 QB Fantasy Week each of the first four weeks. Atlanta is giving up 329 passing yards and 34.5 points per game. Bridgewater is set up nicely to have another big performance.
RB- Antonio Gibson, WFT
Washington is smacking the switch at QB from Haskins to Kyle Allen who we saw use CMC a lot last season. Now I know Gibson isn’t Christian McCaffery but earlier in the offseason Head Coach Ron Rivera made the comparison so there’s at least hope in Gibson to be what CMC is in that Washington Offense. Gibson is slowly getting more rushing work every week and we finally saw him featured as a receiver out of the backfield as he had 82 yards on 4 catches (5 targets)
WR- Justin Jefferson, MIN
Jefferson broke out in a big way in week 3 and followed it up with another solid performance in week 4 that saw him produce 103 yards on 4 catches. Seattle is giving up 65.1 (full PPR) Fantasy Points per game to the WR position allowing 408.5 passing yards a game and 6 passing touchdowns. Kirk Cousins hasn’t been terrible this season and is averaging 255 passing yards with 4 Touchdowns over his last two games. This is a matchup that should go in Jefferson’s favor. Look for him to continue his hot start.
TE- Dalton Schultz, DAL
Dalton Schultz has 18 catches for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns this season which gives him a nice floor and always has major upside in this high powered Dallas Offense. The New York Giants Defense is one you like to target and Prescott shouldn’t have much difficulty getting the ball to his pass catchers.
Sits Of The Week:
QB- Carson Wentz, PHI
Carson Wentz has been better the last two weeks but it took an overtime game against the Bengals and a hurt 49ers defense to get to a decent fantasy game. The Steelers defense is only allowing 19 points and 199 passing yards a game. With no healthy options for Wentz it’s probably a good idea to leave him on your bench.
RB- Miles Sanders, PHI
Sanders has been decent this season and you drafted him high with hopes he could be a top 5 Running Back but it’s just not working out for him right now. The Offensive line is really banged up and the offense as a whole just can’t seem to sustain drives for Sanders to get going. All that mixed with the matchup against the Steelers who are only allowing 54 (yeah.. 54) rushing yards a game makes Sanders a must sit this week.
WR- Jarvis Landry, CLE
Jarvis Landry had a very good fantasy day last week but if you take out the unpredictable 37 yard touchdown pass he only had 5 grabs for 48 yards. He hasn’t seen more than 6 targets a game and has only had more than 48 yards once (in week 1) and hasn't scored yet. His schedule was great for an early season FLEX play and his best game actually came against Baltimore. His three bad games came against the Bengals, The Cowboys and The Football team in Washington. The Colts defense is only giving up 126 yards to the WR position so there’s not much production to go around in this game.
TE- Mike Gesicki, MIA
Gesicki was a popular pick for the Mark Andrews or Darren Waller breakout this season but he just hasn't been involved like everyone thought. He’s had one great game but outside of that he only has 5 catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. San Francisco is only giving up 6.6 points per game to the Tight End Position and with very little targets it’s going to be hard to trust Gesicki in your lineup this week.
Sleepers Of The Week
QB- Daniel Jones, NYG
Daniel Jones has had 3 straight games of 10 or less Fantasy Points but now he gets to go against a Dallas Defense who has given up over 38 points in three straight games. He has the weapons to have a great game. If you are in need of a QB this week give Daniel Jones a long look.
RB- Damien Harris, NE
Damien Harris was activated off IR last week and Sony Michel put on it shortly after. Harris was the lead RB for the Patriots last week and got 17 carries for 100 yards. He didn’t see any work in the passing game but that is expected with James White and Rex Burkhead both active. Harris has high upside in this offense if he can keep getting the volume we saw last week.
WR- Brandin Cooks, HOU
I know Brandin Cooks hasn’t been playable as of late but with Bill O’Brian gone it could lead to better play calling where Watson can get the ball into his playmakers hands. Houston should be competitive in this game against the Jaguars so don’t be surprised if you see Cooks have a good day.
TE- Chris Herndon, NYJ
Herndon was another guy who people thought could be a breakout candidate but with Adam Gase still the Coach of the Jets, Herndon has been a huge disappointment. Sam Darnold is out this week with a shoulder injury so Joe Flacco will get the start and we’ve seen Flacco hyper-target the TE before. If you are in a deeper league and looking for TE help Herndon could be in for a solid week vs the Cardinals who give up 13.1 Fantasy Points per game to the Position.
Bounce Backs Of The Week:
QB Deshaun Watson, HOU
Watson hasn’t been terrible this season but he hasn’t been the Watson of old. Jacksonville hasn’t been the best against opposing QB averaging 277 yards and 2 TD’s a game. Bill O’Brian is gone and I believe we will see Watson be leaned upon more this game than we’ve seen in the past. I have Deshaun Watson having a huge game against the Jaguars and this could be the start of a huge stretch for the Star Quarterback.
RB- James White, NE
James White missed two games with the death of his father and came back to 10 touches for 59 yards. Damien Harris isn’t known for catching passes so White will be the 3rd down back and without Cam this week he could be featured a lot in this game. If James White is out there on your waiver wire, like he was in one of my leagues, go out and grab him now.
WR- Deebo Samuel, SF
Deebo missed the first three games of the season but came back to play in the 49ers week 4 loss to the Eagles finishing with 4 touches for 45 yards. With the 49ers offense expected to get back Garoppolo and Raheem Mostert we could see the offense that impressed last season and Deebo could be the main beneficiary of that. Deebo is a versatile player that can score through the air or on a jet sweep and Shanahan knows he needs to get the ball in his playmakers hands. Miami has given up an average of 40 points per game to the WR position which makes Deebo a fine FLEX play.
TE- Logan Thomas, WFT
Logan Thomas is seeing a healthy target share with 28 targets already on the year. With Kyle Allen taking over for Dwyane Haskins it's yet to be seen if Thomas can maintain the targets he was getting before. Thomas is athletic and with no one really stepping up opposite Terry McLaurin, Thomas could be in for a productive day against the Rams this week.
