Week 8: What We Learned + The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Week 8 is in the books and this season couldn’t be any more identical to 2020. The Dolphins are on a three game win streak after beating the Rams by two possessions in a game where their starting quarterback threw for less than 100 yards. We witnessed two of the absolute worst primetime game matchups on Sunday and Monday night. Injuries continue to pile, all but ending playoff hopes for teams like the 49ers. The Bengals won in an upset where almost every analyst in America had them taking an L, and if things couldn’t get any weirder, the Eagles can win their division with a 4-11-1 record.

What else did we learn?

Cam Newton is not the answer in New England. A costly fumble with the game on line showed that the Patriots will still need to address quarterback play. For the first time in a while, the Patriots are not contenders in their division. They aren’t even runner ups.

The Colts continue to show dominance on both sides of the ball proving they are one of the better teams in the league. The dynamic backfield put on a show, pre and post touchdowns, but an injury to TY Hilton may make it hard to spread the field.

Joe Burrow made it happen this week against the Titans exposing them for what they really are. Burrow was able to put up points against a tough defense with no Joe Mixon and virtually no pass protection. This kid is the real deal.

Tua was quiet in his first NFL start. Although he did not put up many points or yards, he trusted his defense and did enough to get the win. He was hit hard and turned the ball over early in the game, but this is expected with young quarterbacks in their first games.

The Steelers win in a potential AFC Championship preview. Although it seems the Ravens were controlling the game, better play at the quarterback position helped Steelers run away with this one.

Teams are continuing to separate themselves from the rest of the league, but when it comes to fantasy who knows who is going to perform one week vs the other. Let’s take a look at Week 8’s, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
